We are thrilled to announce that our own Curt Kaufman, CFO of Angels for Hearts, will once again represent Angels for Hearts in the L5 Investments Capital Cup Golf Tournament, taking place September 12–14, 2025. This marks Curt’s eighth year participating, and we couldn’t be prouder to have him championing our cause on the course.
Each year, 28-32 top executives from the Sacramento region tee off in this one-of-a-kind charity event, modeled after the historic Ryder Cup. But this is more than just golf—it’s a powerful display of community leadership, philanthropy, and generosity. Players raise funds for their chosen nonprofits, and in our case, Curt plays with his whole heart for Angels for Hearts.
The Capital Cup isn’t your average golf tournament. Since its founding in 2015, it has raised over $18 million for 92 nonprofits, all while fostering camaraderie among Sacramento’s most influential business leaders. This year the goal for the L5 Investments Capital Cup is to have raised over $20 million dollars since its inception. What makes it even more special? Thanks to generous sponsors, 100% of all funds raised by players go directly to their selected charities.
Curt’s dedication to Angels for Hearts goes beyond the boardroom and the golf course. His efforts through the Capital Cup help fund programs that support heart kids and their families—ensuring these amazing children get to experience joy, normalcy, and childhood moments that hospital stays too often interrupt.
